About
Many parents imagine the sex of their future child long before pregnancy. Sometimes these imaginings are fleeting. Sometimes they become deeply embedded within hopes, expectations and plans for the future. When the latter happens, and the parent discovers that their baby is not the sex they had hoped for, they may experience RIFis. For many parents, this can feel confusing because many share that rationally they know that sex alone does not determine who a child becomes, yet emotionally the loss can feel very real. In this course we begin to explore and unravel social narratives, personal meaning and begin to get curious about these and what they mean to us. There are some exercises and reflections to help guild you through this mini course.
