Book on RIFis
Coming Summer 2026
I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming release of my book, coming this summer, which presents the world’s first model and scientifically informed understanding of RIFis. It draws on my own lived experience, doctoral research, and extensive engagement with parents and healthcare professionals.
What’s inside:
The book explores the complex emotional and individual experience of RIFis, from hope, shame, and grief to navigating societal expectations and the imagined futures we hold for ourselves and children. My book is rigorously informed by the most recent research but written with the heart and love of someone who has walked the brutal RIFis path. It provides a road map for understanding and processing the difficult and often overwhelming emotions of RUFis.

Highlights include:
-
The world’s first model of RIFis, providing a clear framework to support better understanding of the RIFis experience.
-
A closer look at how family, culture, and society shape the hopes and dreams we have for the children we imagine.
-
Practical advice for parents and healthcare professionals on understanding the feelings of RIFis, feeling seen, and giving and receiving support.
“A must-read for anyone navigating the unexpected and often unspoken journey of ‘gender disappointment’. It blends rigorous research with humanity and heart-touching honesty.”
